— "system" is a term used by the did and osdd community to explain those who have one of the two disorders. did (dissociative identity disorder) and osdd (other specified dissociative disorder) are characterized by two or more distinct identity states in a singular body.if that confuses you, it essentially means that two or more separate, unique identities share a single body. these people are the ones you might be seeing using a bot called pluralkit, or tupperbox! these are discord bots that allow the distinct individuals in a did or osdd system to separate themselves from the base account, and present as themselves!— of note, you may hear the term "endogenic" be mentioned. the term "endogenic" refers to the belief that a system (did/osdd) can form without trauma. considering what we know about did and osdd as of right now, this is impossible, and negates the reality of having either one of these disorders. as such, i would like to remind you that endogenic, or nontraumagenic identifying & supporting individuals are not welcome." why are endogenic systems bad ? — it's not so much the people themselves as it is the amount of misinformation the community has spread. many uneducated, new systems are told it's okay to have no trauma and still be a system, when that's not scientifically backed or proven. the disorders form in response to repeated, severe trauma in childhood.the endogenic community has spread far and wide, and many within it react with hostility when told they aren't welcome in spaces made for did/osdd systems. that, combined with the misinformation they spread, we aren't comfortable with their presence.
